Fonality, Vonage and managing inbound call volume

Fonality http://www.fonality.com

Dean Schwartz found a phone solutions he likes that I want to pass on to the rest of you.

It does not replace your phone system, it can work with your existing copper or IP based phone system giving it about 50 more features, some of which are critical to running a small call center.

I like it because it seems to have a huge amount of features that allow me to queue the inbound calls and allow us to route calls according to skills. I can record calls. I can monitor all the calls in the call center.

Dean likes it because the call quality from Vonage stinks.

Mach 6?

I say we take up a collection to get David one of those new 6-blade razors I heard talked about from Gillette. The Mach 6?

(Nice picture.)

Sorry I've missed the last few meetings, but alas, I must make money. Hope they were productive meetings. I hope to see you all soon.

Intern Information from Coach Nick

Below are the details that my virtual assistant compiled a few months ago as it relates to hiring an intern from the local schools.

As I mentioned, I currently have one that I use from Sacred Heart.

INTERN INFORMATION:

Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT

Two ways to get an intern, paid or unpaid:

1. PAID (via Career Development Office)
post jobs for pay www.fairfield.edu/careers click Employer and post a new job. Non-credit PAID internships only.
An average of 60 individuals search this Job Bulletin Board each day.
They execute on average 75 searches per day and view an average of 129 individual job announcements each day.

2. PAID or UNPAID internships for credit (diff dept) Dolan School of Business 254 4000 x 3040 Cathy
School of Biz
Jrs and Seniors, for academic credit. Must be within their major (i.e. Marketing Majors)
She maintains intern database. Send her the job description, the company, needed qualifications of the student that we're looking for. Runs by semester, so majority do internships during the fall and spring semester, a few during the summer. They tend to do internships in senior year for credit and/or get paid. For credit during summer, they have to pay for a 3 credit course (which stops some of them if they're not getting paid). During school year, require work 12-15 hrs per week, and also has to do a paper. Approved for credit based on the job description, the Chair of Mktg dept would look at job description to see if could be done for academic credit. Some of job responsibilites have to be significant (i.e. not just data entry or photocopying), Some of that is okay, but it can't be limited to that.

What is the CEO Roundtable? Part One...

The CEO Roundtable meets once a month to discuss issues relevant to business owners and managers. The format is that of a round-table discussion on a particular topic chosen in advance. Topics range from how we manage and measure our marketing, human resources or public relations efforts to the technologies we use or the things we've learned. We do not bring in outside speakers but rely instead on having a handful of subject matter experts in the room on any given topic.
